Novation performs non-destructive testing services on metal components to confirm their dependability, integrity, and safety while maintaining form and function. We offer Nadcap NDT testing for aerospace, defense, energy, industrial, medical, and telecommunications applications.
NDT for Quality Assurance
At Novation, we use fluorescent penetrant inspection in our NDT processes. This liquid penetrant testing technique involves the application of fluorescent dye and UV light to locate surface-breaking defects. Novations' "NDT" processes are Nadcap certified. Novation currently holds several aerospace OEM certifications which include approved pre-cleaning steps prior to the NDT processing.
Depending on the specification call out our FPI begins with pre-cleaning and/or etching the item to be tested. Our inspectors apply fluorescent dye, allow it to dwell, and remove any excess dye once the dwell time is complete. A developer is then applied to highlight the defects so they can be found during a UV light visual inspection. After the inspection is complete, the item is then cleaned and returned to its original state and ready for further processing if no defects were found.

"Brought in some jdm wheel faces to get finished in gloss white. The gentleman suggested powder coat at drop off. The first time out of powder coat there was some flaws in the final product that i noticed at pickup. I sent them back and had them redone, and the gentleman in charge called me and told me they still didnt come out well. He offered to refund the job or switch to a wet paint (what i initially wanted anyway). I agreed to try the paint optin and we finally had success on the 3rd try. I'm sure by taking 3 tries they forwent making a profit on this job but they stood behind it and put in the effort to make the job right. This right here is how you earn repeat business."
